Profile of Dr. Ir. Karolus Karni Lando, MBA

CEO – KRQA–SQC Certification Services | Asia Pacific Region

Effective 1 January 2026, Dr. Ir. Karolus Karni Lando, MBA has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KRQA–SQC Certification Services, with full responsibility for overseeing and leading certification services across the Asia Pacific Region. In this role, he provides strategic direction, governance leadership, and operational oversight to ensure the highest standards of quality, integrity, and international compliance.

Dr. Ir. Karolus Karni Lando, MBA is a distinguished Indonesian expert in Management Systems, widely recognized for his leadership, achievements, and long-standing dedication to advancing quality, safety, compliance, and governance standards throughout the Asia Pacific region. His professional career spans more than two decades within internationally accredited certification bodies, where he has consistently demonstrated excellence, credibility, and ethical leadership.

He previously served as Director of Certification for RINA Asia Pacific, where he successfully led strategic business development, auditor competency and qualification programs, client engagement initiatives, and the expansion of certification services across multiple countries in the region.

Dr. Lando is also the first Indonesian professional to obtain ISO/TS 16949 recognition from the IATF, underscoring his pioneering contribution to the automotive quality management sector. In addition, he has served as an IRCA Lead Tutor in the Asia Pacific region since his tenure with the UK-based certification body LRQA (1999–2013), and subsequently with RINA Italy (2014–2025). Through these roles, he has trained, mentored, and inspired thousands of auditors, managers, and professionals across the region.

His contributions at the national level have been recognized through prestigious awards from KORLANTAS POLRI (2008) and SARPRAS POLRI (2011) for his guidance and coaching in Management System Certification, contributing significantly to improved governance, compliance, and operational excellence within Indonesian public institutions.

On 16 December 2025, Dr. Ir. Karolus Karni Lando, MBA received a prestigious award from POS Kupang, recognizing him as one of the “Outstanding Sons of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT)” in the category of Pioneer in International Quality and Compliance. This recognition honors his lifelong dedication and pioneering role in elevating international quality, compliance, and governance standards while bringing pride and global recognition to his home province of NTT.

Beyond his technical and professional achievements, Dr. Lando has also demonstrated a strong commitment to public service and regional development by participating as a Legislative Candidate for the House of Representatives (DPR RI) representing NTT-1 in the 2024 General Election.
